Description: Corporate Counsel/IP Compliance -
Our client is looking for a talented corporate counsel to support its intellectual property efforts. Counsel will support certain registry services business on all compliance issues. Counsel will provide day-to-day advice; create and implement internal and customer-facing policies around compliance with our gTLD Registry Agreements and ICANN’s policies; manage inquiries, notices, and audit requests and responses; and oversee the implementation of any applicable regulatory compliance requirements in the registry business. Counsel will also provide ongoing legal counseling in a wide range of areas relating to intellectual property, including contractual relationships, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate must be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, have a sense of humor, be business minded and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.
Qualified candidates must have:
• 5 plus years of legal experience (with at least 2 years at a law firm), with substantial experience in specialized IT contracts and/or domain name and DNS space issues
• In house experience at technology company would be a plus
• A well-rounded background in compliance issues and domain name law including familiarity with ICANN, compliance, domain names, and the naming space
• Substantial experience in legal ethics/compliance issues
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines
• Strong written and oral communication skills
